Peter Pabst : White Red Pink Green

20세기 최고의 안무가 피나 바우쉬의 오랜 예술적 동료로서 부퍼탈 탄츠테아터의 무대 디자인을 책임져온 페터 팝스트의 전시입니다. 지난 30여 년 피나 바우쉬 작품을 더욱 아름답고 독창적으로 만들었던 그의 아이코닉한 무대들 중 대표작들을 전시 공간에 맞는 설치미술로 재구성하였습니다. 멀리 떨어진 객석에서 관객이 바라보기만 하는 무대가 아니라 스스로의 손과 발로 걷고 만지고, 누비는 공간으로서 무대를 경험하며 즐길 수 있는
‘유희의 장’을 창조하였습니다. 총 5개 층에 걸쳐 구성된 전시 공간은 전체가 하나의 작품처럼 유기적으로 연결된 동시에 작품마다 각각의 이야기를 담아내고 있습니다. 페터 팝스트가 창조해낸 춤의 공간을 적극적으로 체험하는 동안 자신의 움직임에 대해 사색하는 시간을 갖게 될 것입니다. 

This exhibition presents the stage works of Peter Pabst, one of the 20th century’s foremost stage designers and a longtime artistic collaborator of the legendary choreographer Pina Bausch at Tanztheater Wuppertal. Over the past three decades, Pabst has created iconic sets that have enhanced and defined Bausch’s choreographic universe; several of these landmark works are reimagined here as site-specific installations. Rather than a stage observed from a distance, the exhibition transforms into a space to walk, touch, and explore—a realm of play rather than mere spectacle. Spanning five floors, the exhibition unfolds as a cohesive, continuous composition while allowing each work to convey its own narrative and atmosphere. Through direct physical engagement, visitors are invited to reflect on movement, space, and the sensorial imagination of dance.
