전설적인 뮤지션이자 시인 패티 스미스는 데뷔 50주년을 맞아, 현대적인 소닉 아트 플랫폼 사운드워크 컬렉티브와 함께 지난 10여 년간 이어온 콜라보레이션의 궤적을 확장합니다. 음악, 문학, 사진, 미술 등 장르를 넘나들며 활동해온 스미스는 전설적인 앨범들과 함께 자전적 에세이 《저스트 키즈(Just Kids)》로 전미도서상을 수상하며 문학적 성취 또한 인정받았습니다. 사운드워크 컬렉티브는 특정한 시간과 장소, 기억에 연루된 소리를 수집하고 이를 문학적·철학적 사유와 결합해 다층적 청각 경험을 구축해온 팀입니다. 이번 전시는 두 작가가 자연, 인간 존재, 기억, 사랑, 환경에 관한 탐구를 사운드, 텍스트, 영상 등의 매체로 확장하며, 듣기라는 행위를 감각적 경험이자 사유의 과정으로 재구성합니다. 녹음된 목소리와 시편, 공간의 울림이 겹쳐지는 순간, 관객은 소리와 언어가 이루는 열린 대화 속에서 스스로의 문장과 감정, 그리고 질문을 발견하게 될 것입니다.

Legendary musician and poet Patti Smith, celebrating the 50th anniversary of her debut, extends the trajectory of her collaboration over the past decade with the contemporary sound art group Soundwalk Collective. Crossing the boundaries of music, literature, photography, and visual art, Smith has received recognition for her literary achievements, including the National Book Award for her autobiographical essay <Just Kids>, alongside her iconic albums. Soundwalk Collective collects sounds connected to specific times, places, and memories, and integrates them with literary and philosophical reflections to construct layered auditory experiences. This exhibition expands the artists’ exploration of nature, human existence, memory, love, and the environment through sound, text, and video, transforming the act of listening into both a sensory experience and a process of reflection. In moments where recorded voices, poetic fragments, and the resonance of space intertwine, visitors encounter an open dialogue of sound and language, discovering their own sentences, emotions, and questions.
